Trading Internal Communications Manager

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive communications professional, with excellent interpersonal skills and an affinity with charity shops, to develop and deliver a robust communications strategy to inspire, motivate and inform over 1,000 staff and 23,000 volunteers across Oxfam’s Trading division.

Based in Oxford, in Oxfam’s Communications Division, the Internal Communications Manager will work with Oxfam's Trading teams to provide multi-media communications to support the Trading strategy and to engage staff and volunteers with Oxfam’s mission.

With a strong focus on consultation and collaboration, you will work directly with Oxfam shop teams across the country, attending area meetings and spending time in shops, to provide communications expertise, support and materials. You will gather feedback on shop needs and organisational priorities, and interpret this learning and knowledge to develop high energy, high impact communications.

There is a possibility of Job Share for this role. Please note that for job share this role will be divided into 2 part time roles.

About you

As a strategic thinker who can develop and deliver engaging content, you will have a clear understanding of the role of internal communications in supporting organisational priorities. You have experience of developing and implementing multichannel? multi-media? communications campaigns. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to lead a team of volunteers to deliver key communications.

You are able to work under pressure and come up with creative solutions. Organised and able to meet deadlines; you will be comfortable consulting widely across all levels and interpreting feedback to help make decisions on activities.

You will have a keen interest in charity shops and the retail environment. Although not essential, previous experience of internal communications in a retail or volunteering environment would be desirable.
