Chief of Party / Project Director - Indonesia
Despite decades of supportive policies and programs to reduce maternal and newborn deaths in Indonesia, maternal and newborn mortality rates continue to be unacceptably high. The challenges of delivering adequate maternal and newborn health care in Indonesia are well known and include limited access to quality facilities, limited availability of health staff capable of managing complications, lack of awareness and cultural constraints regarding safe practices, and ineffective data systems. Because government and donor investments to date have not yet resulted in expected declines in mortality, USAID is investing in a new 5-year (2017-2022) program to draw upon a wide range of non-traditional stakeholders to generate new, innovative solutions to tackle maternal and newborn mortality. Jhpiego is seeking a dynamic, creative, and strategic leader with significant private sector experience to direct this new program.
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide vision, strategic leadership and management to this USAID-funded program that seeks to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in Indonesia through the identification and implementation of new, innovative approaches.
