Site Management Team Leader- Drop-in Centre in Thessaloniki- Greek national/resident and asylum seekers applicants only - Greece


NRC started operations on Chios in mid-October 2015 and has since directly assisted over 70,000 refugees and
migrants, working together with the Greek authorities, humanitarian actors and volunteers to set up and
maintain a dignified and efficient flow of refugees from arrival at the beach, via registration and reception
facilities, to departure by boat or plane to mainland Greece.
NRC Thessaloniki is now looking forward to cover the position of the Site Management Team Leader- Drop-in Centre

Job description

Management of project staff
Implement plan of action for delegated portfolio of Site Management – Drop-in Centre (activities, budget and project documentation)
Day to day follow of progress in project implementation
Ensure compliance with NRC policies Site Management – Drop-in Centre tools, handbooks and guidelines
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Promote and share ideas for technical improvement
Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
Liaison and collaborate with relevant local authorities and stakeholders
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Manage the NRC drop-in center in Thessaloniki, including the assets related to the center (physical spaces, equipment, etc.)
Manage the relation with the other agencies/authorities providing services inside the center.
Ensure that the services provided in the drop-in center are complementary
Organize the drop-in center’s timetable
Ensure registration, selection and participation of volunteers in the management of the center’s activities
Ensure that protection principles are mainstreamed across the different activities NRC conducts within the drop-in center
In coordination with the Shelter department, follow-up on the drop-in center renovation works and ensure timely and effective maintenance of the center’s facilities.


Understanding of the Refugee crisis in Greece
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English and Greek, both written and verbal
At least 3 years of experience in a relevant setting
At least 2 years of experience in a managerial position
Bachelor degree is required preferably in social science or related field
Good working knowledge of office platforms
Fluency in Arabic and/or Farsi (oral) is an asset
Experience from working a project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context is a asset
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts is an asset
