Administration Technical Officer-Lawyer in Thessaloniki- Greek resident and asylum seekers applicants only - Greece


NRC started operations on Chios in mid-October 2015 and has since directly assisted over 70,000 refugees and
migrants, working together with the Greek authorities, humanitarian actors and volunteers to set up and
maintain a dignified and efficient flow of refugees from arrival at the beach, via registration and reception
facilities, to departure by boat or plane to mainland Greece.
NRC Thessaloniki is now looking forward to cover the position of the Shelter Technical Officer-Real Estate Lawyer.

Job description

Ensure legal compliance of lease agreements, and other contracts
Be the focal points for litigation or arbitration
Administer a portfolio of contracts for refugee accommodation
Contribute to NRC tools and processes with the objective to reduce NRC’s liability
Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines and standards
Ensure compliance with Shelter Urban Project strategy, tools, handbooks, guidelines and standards
Responsible for implementation and documentation of lease agreements
Responsible for tracking of financial expenditures and quality control as well as monitoring of lease agreements
Provide specific technical support and capacity building towards project staff
Provide specific technical analysis and feedback to NRC representatives in coordination forums
Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy


Understanding of the Refugee crisis in Greece
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Fluency in English and Greek, both written and verbal
Bachelor's degree in Law
At least 3 years of professional experience practicing law, preferably in handling residential real estate transactions In Greece
Experience from working within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context is a plus
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts is a plus
