About the role

This is an exciting temporary role designed to help Christian Aid position itself better in responding to the crises in Iraq and Syria. The jobholder will be expected to spend significant time in Erbil, Beirut and Gaziantep supporting Christian Aid partners and consultants in the field and presenting Christian Aid's work to donors. The post holder will be expected to identify new funding opportunities and to help Christian Aid and its partners secure funding to ensure the continuation of current support to some of the world's most vulnerable people.

The post is for 6-12 months depending on the successful candidates availability.

About you

You will be able to work independently, to be confident in autonomous decision making and you will have excellent communication and presentation skills. You will have experience of the Middle East with knowledge of at least one local language, and you will be willing to travel extensively in the region. You will be good at writing funding proposals and will have experience of making applications for institutional funding. You will have excellent writing skills. You will also have a sound understanding of humanitarian principles and experience of monitoring and evaluation work. Ideally you will have practical experience of coaching and mentoring in the field.
