GGGI has a diverse portfolio of programs in developing countries and emerging economies around the world. These in-country programs, together with global products and services, focus on delivering results through an integrated approach of evidence-based green growth planning and implementation aligned to countries’ development priorities. The organization also focuses on knowledge development activities which build a strong theoretical and empirical basis for green growth, and knowledge management and sharing activities that provide concrete options and guidance for policymakers, as well as help build the conditions for public and private green infrastructure investments.

The Governance Department of the Office of the Director-General leads the coordination and engagement of GGGI with its membership, including the Assembly and the Council, as well as supporting the Director-General and the Management Team with the implementation of governance decisions. The Department also proactively engages in building strong collaborative relations with key government entities, particularly in the HQ host country.



Reporting to the Director of the Governance Department, the Governance Officer supports the successful management of the GGGI Governance Organs – the Assembly, Council, Management and Program Sub-Committee – and ongoing high-level relations with member countries. The Governance Organs provide a platform for policy dialogue on green growth between member countries, as well as a forum for members to oversee the delivery of the Institute’s Strategy Plan, Country Planning Frameworks and Work Program and Budget. The Governance Officer will also provide administrative support to the President of the Assembly/ Chair of the Council.

Based in Seoul, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as “green growth,” which targets key aspects of economic performance such as poverty reduction and job creation, as well as social inclusion and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and the private sector to help build economies that achieve strong growth and are less carbon intensive, more resilient to climate change, and more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources.


The Governance Officer:

  • Ensures the effective preparation and follow up of governance matters, including discussions and decision making.
  • Drafts documents and discussions related to the management of the governance organs, as well as summary records of sessions.
  • Coordinates organization of sessions/meetings of governance organs, including travel support for Members.


The Governance Officer:

  • Communicates internally to ensure on-time preparation of high-quality governance documents and compliance with governance decisions.
  • Coordinates with the events team to ensure meeting facilities are in compliance with needs.


The Governance Officer:

  • Ensures that work is effectively organized and delivered within the established plans, policies, and procedures, and in line with the expectations of Members.
  • Defines and oversees facilities and logistics needs to ensure professionally organized governance meetings.
  • Provides administrative support to the President of the Assembly/ Chair of the Council.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working at an international or national government supporting intergovernmental dialogue processes or the activities of a board of directors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (i.e. Public Policy, International Relations, International Development).
  • Excellent command of English, with the ability to draft clear and concise documents in English is a must.
  • Excellent level of computer literacy; knowledge of Sharepoint would be an advantage.
  • Korean language ability and/or other languages of GGGI Member countries would be an advantage.

The successful candidate should be motivated and proactive, acting as a team player and facilitating a collaborative team culture. He/She should also possess strong oral and written communication skills to communicate successfully across GGGI divisions.
