PSP Global Analyst     

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The incumbent is responsible for the development and dissemination of HQ-based global and country level analysis of private sector fundraising in UNHCR, as well as collaborative benchmarking projects involving other leading global organizations. The post will essentially aim at raising UNHCR level of insight on key issues/opportunities in PSP fundraising programs and help PSP meet annual and long term income targets.

The PSP Global Analyst will be part of the Marketing & Strategy Section, reporting to the Chief of Marketing & Strategy, working closely with the Senior Global PSP Officers, Regional PSP Managers and Fundraising specialists at a National level to assist them in ensuring strong performance analysis, and decision making backed by sound data. A key component of the incumbent¿s role will be to participate in periodic reviews of UNHCR Global Strategies on PSP and gradually building UNHCR marketing Intelligence capacity.

The incumbent will also collaborate with the NGF Officer and NGF Committee to ensure strong analysis of UNHCR¿s investments and return on that investment.

FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT

Accountability
- High quality fundraising analysis, reflected in reliable performance tracking.
- High quality identification of trends in country level, regional and global UNHCR fundraising, and identification of global trends in fundraising,
- High quality testing and analysis of new fundraising techniques and programs, and fundraising innovation.
- High quality delivery, dissemination and usage of analysis conducted, reflected in strong and factual decision making that reference analysis conducted.
- UNHCR relies on Fundraising Performance Analysis frameworks and has high quality fundraising analysis, reflected in reliable performance tracking and the identification of key issues/opportunities.
- Market and Fundraising trends at a Global, Regional and Country level internal to UNHCR as well as in comparison to other leading global organizations.
- Support to periodic reviews of UNHCR global strategies on PSP including the creation and management of relevant marketing intelligence tools.

Responsibility
- Create and manage the framework for formal analysis conducted throughout PSP, the way data is collected, advising on the quality of data, and ensuring PSP maximizes the use of data collected for quality analysis to assist effective decision making.
- Conduct the Annual iNGO Global Donor Insight Initiative in collaboration with other global organizations.
- Support Chief of Marketing & Strategy in conducting periodic reviews of UNHCR Global Strategy on PSP, and develop relevant Marketing Intelligence tools to support such reviews.
- Ensure that the PSP offices reflect on key points raised and recommendations formulated in the frame of country reviews and other PSP analytical reports, in liaison with the Regional Managers in charge.
- Collaborate with Fundraising Specialists at a Global and a National level to help ensure stronger analysis of the various fundraising programs, and better annual and long term plans leading to improved Return on Investment of PSP Fundraising operations.
- Develop an agreed annual plan and budget for PSP Analysis and manage and report on that plan and budget.

Authority
- Hire and manage internal and external resources to implement Fundraising Analysis Frameworks.
- Engage with other leading global organizations and the International Fundraising Leadership (IFL) forum to conduct Annual Collaborative projects including but not limited to the Peer Review and the Global Donor Insight Initiative.
- Develop and manage relevant Marketing Intelligence tools to support the conduction of periodic reviews of UNHCR Global Strategy on PSP.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- University degree (BA) in Business/Marketing, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
- 8 years of previous relevant work experience (6 years with advanced university degree).
- Proven experience in global and country fundraising analysis.
- Proven experience in supporting the assessment, review and implementation of Global Fundraising Strategies.
- Experience with monthly giving acquisition programs such as F2F, Digital and DRTV.
- Proven experience with comprehensive PSP reporting, benchmarking and performance evaluation based on return on investment, attrition rates and life-time value.
- Excellent knowledge of English (written/oral/comprehension).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills and strong communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written).
- Computer skills with particular reference to analysis of fundraising results, benchmarking, database management, data  mining  as well as proficiency in word, excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiar with technology and Business Intelligence tools commonly used in the sector.
- Understanding of the strategic implications of fundraising metrics and data.
