HR Technical Officer

NRC is looking to recruit an experienced Human Resources Technical Officer for our Syria Response Office, located in Amman, Jordan.

Our ideal candidate is:

A university graduate, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years' experiencein Human Resources position in a humanitarian/recovery context.  experience working instart-up/scale up operations.

In this position you will join highly motivated staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people in the world's biggest displacement crisis.  

 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • provide both HR-specific support
  • to file employee-related documents and administration archives, answer department telephones, relay messages and distribute information to employees
  • Ensure correct staff payroll
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities, as per advice from the HR Coordinator
  • Assist with field level training as required and assist in arranging for all requested seminar, workshops and trainings session requested and approved in HR Strategy
  • General HR management and implementing HR policies, drafting them when requested or advisable
  • Support the line manager for the processing of work permits, visas and other related permits

    Competencies

    • Experience working within a HR function(s) in a humanitarian/ recovery context
    • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
    • Relevant support function expertise
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities:
    • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, and Outlook)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organisational and team work skills
    • Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
    • Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential
    • Good diplomacy and negotiating skills
    • Ability to work in English (written/spoken)

 

  • Performs, under minimal supervision
