Job Title: Finance Coordinator

Job Location: Gaza
Duration of contract: 6 months / with possibility of extension
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors.
The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs.
Generic responsibilities
• Implement NRC’s financial systems and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to Financial Handbook, other NRC policies and donor requirements
• Maintain budget control and monitor cash flow
• Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures
• Train and develop financial and program teams
• Prepare and submit reports and analysis as required
• Ensure proper filing of all financial documents
• Support project staff in financial matters
Specific responsibilities
• Ensure that all project’s budgets are uploaded into Agresso
• Prepare monthly reports of the financial situation of the projects BVAs
• In coordination with the SM, hold monthly meetings with PMs, HOP, PCs and AM to review financial reports
• Ensure booking of Gaza payments
• Prepare donor financial reports
• Participate in budget preparation for new proposals and grant applications to ensure compliance with NRC and donor guidelines
• Train the finance and program staff on budgeting, reporting and donor regulations. Take the lead in identifying changes to donor regulations and provide guidance and organize trainings
• Be the focal person to report projects’ results to PDMs, PMs, PCs and AM in the Gaza office.
• Monitor the budget and financial report of NRC implementing partners in Gaza.
• Be the Finance focal point in the Gaza office
• Min. 3-5 years relevant experience in a similar position /management and coordination of staff/ good project management skills
• Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
• Familiar with grants proposal writing and reporting
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Experience with start-up, exit or similar
• Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal
• Duty station: Gaza based position
