NRC is a humanitarian organisation working in all phases of displacement. To strengthen the capacity to respond immediately to the needs of our beneficiaries when a crisis occurs, NRC has different Emergency Response mechanisms. One of these is the Start-up Team. The Global Roving HR Advisor will be an important capacity in the team, and we are now in the process of recruiting for the position.
The Global Roving HR Advisor will be on full-time contract in order to be available to support NRC in responding to start-ups. This may mean a rapid deployment at short notice into a new country programme.

The Global Roving HR Advisor will be expected to undertake field missions up to 75% of the year. In most situations the temporary assignments will not exceed 6 months and will often be shorter.

On mission, the Global Roving HR Advisor reports to the respective Country Director. However, in between field assignments, he/she will report directly to the Director Emergency Response.

Job description

  • The Global Roving HR Advisor will be required to undertake tasks to provide a variety of HR support, development and training functions and undertake shorter-term missions to NRC country programmes (normally up to three months) if not engaged in any start-up.
  • The position will play a crucial role in the implementation and follow-up of the NRC Country Offices' HR policies and HR tools. The Global Roving HR Advisor is expected to support senior managements in Field Operations to secure good start-up in new country programmes and backup for Regional HR Advisors during shorter periods.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of either managerial or senior advisory HR experience.
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts an asset.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Knowledge of NRC an asset.
  • Experience with start-up, exit or similar.
  • Holder of a valid international driver’s licence
