UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories to protect the rights of every child. UNICEF has spent 70 years working to improve the lives of children and their families. Defending children's rights throughout their lives requires a global presence, aiming to produce results and understand their effects. UNICEF believes all children have a right to survive, thrive and fulfill their potential – to the benefit of a better world

For Every Child, Hope

In October and November, 1,310 Palestinian children between seven months and 17 years were injured in the West Bank. Children contend with conflict and occupation, poverty, food insecurity, restrictions on movement, violence, and disruptions in education, health care, and access to water and sanitation.

The decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict has caused acute levels of distress among Palestinian children. Their basic needs are not always fulfilled, including protection from violence and poverty.

The Convention of the Rights of the Child clearly states that every child has the right to a childhood, to be educated, to be healthy, to be treated fairly and to be heard. UNICEF is working to ensure that Palestinian children can all fulfill these rights, while encouraging and supporting their active participation as agents of change in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza.

Over the years, Palestinian children have learnt to build resilience in the face of hardship. They have learnt to express their views and to participate in their communities in a spirit of understanding, tolerance and equality. With our support, they will shape a better future. For more information, see the video link below.
