We are looking for a highly qualified candidate
to fit the position of Cash Distribution Assistant with the Protection team.
Who are we?
Danish refugee council has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of
livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project
offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a
country and regional office in Jordan.
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into
northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the
provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities
(registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective
shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

About the job
Under the direct line management of the Area
Senior cash officer, the CASH distribution assistant is responsible for the
overall implementation and coordination of the CASH assistance related
activities (in the North of Lebanon-Tripoli)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive lists of HHs selected as eligible for cash assistance by the supervisor
- Preparation of the supporting document for the release of cash transfer
- Provide regular verbal feedback on field observations and verification findings to the Senior cash Officer
- To provide weekly reports to the cash officer, including accurate figures of distributions done and challenges encountered, in the agreed format
- Distribution of Liban Post Cards on the field on a weekly basis, with the support of cash assistant to the selected beneficiaries
- Provide clear briefings to cash recipients on the field about the Liban Post process and the hotline
- Ensure proper and safe filing of all cash distribution related documents (receipts, pictures, field tracking tools, LP loading forms (hard signed copies and scanned copies)
- Ensure period of cash assistance is tracked for all selected beneficiaries
- Refer cases of protection needs for longer cash assistance (UNHCR PCAP, MCAP, etc.) and general protection needs once identified by field visits

Required qualifications:
Bachelor in Social work, political science, finance , business or
related field
At least 2 years of experience in humanitarian aid
Good knowledge of protection principle in humanitarian settings, of
vulnerability criteria and of the context in north Lebanon
Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and
safety of client at all times;
Excellent interpersonal skills and team player;
Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible with working
hours and able to handle pressure well
Previous experience in international
organizations and humanitarian settings
Previous experience working with Syrian refugees
in Lebanon
Desirable qualifications
Ideally, you will also have:
Qualitative and quantities data analysis
Experience in managing CASH assistance projects
within an NGO in Lebanon

We offer
DRC will offer the successful
applicant a 2
months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and
performance. You must be available to start work from March
2017 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.
Salary and conditions will be
in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates
and Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at level B1
with a basic salary of 1250 USD.
