The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors.

The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

The NRC is now recruiting a Regional Recruitment Coordinator for the Central/West Africa and Latin America region. The purpose of the Recruitment Coordinator position, based in Oslo, is to strengthen the recruitment capacity in the region linked to ongoing assessments in the Lake Chad Basin and emerging needs in the rest of the region.  

 

Job description    

Generic responsibilities:

  • Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
  • Contribute to strategic development of innovative approaches and mechanisms to attract new talents.
  • Secure timely and optimal recruitment processes for international positions in the CWA&LA region.
  • Enable management and HR staff throughout the region in fulfilling their recruitment needs.
  • Active contribution to the overall work of the CWA&LA Support Functions Team.
  • Carry out other duties of temporary character appointed by Regional Head of Support.

 

Specific responisbilities:

  • Support HR Advisers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Attract applicants by creating and placing job ads, use social media and job sites. 
  • Assess and evaluate candidates through selection, assessments, interviews and references. 
  • Administrate and conduct interviews.
  • Prepare and send out job recommendations, offers and contracts.
  • Secure safe handover to the HR Advisers.
  • Provide recruitment statistics.

 

     

    Qualifications

    • Experience from working in an international organization
    • Experience from working with recruitment of international staff
    • Documented results related to the position's responsibilities
    • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
    • A high level of French and/or Spanish skills is an advantage and in some cases a prerequisite
