Background

UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary manages the processing of a number of transactions on behalf of UNICEF offices around the world. The GSSC provides the services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of HR Administration, Payroll, Finance and Customer Care (Information Technology Global Help Desk).

The GSSC was established in 2015 and has over 300 staff members from around the world. The staff at the GSSC are highly educated, young professionals many of whom are new to the UN and UNICEF. They are eager to learn and develop skills needed to perform their tasks and participate in comprehensive learning in order to achieve that goal.

Purpose

The Curriculum Development Consultant will enhance existing learning courses and collaborate on the development of new offerings for staff members in the GSSC.

Key Accountabilities and Tasks

Under the direction of the Learning and Development Specialist, the consultant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Convert existing instructor led financial processing curriculum into self-learning modules using Adobe Captivate. This will include curriculum on Payment Foundations, General Accounting Foundations and Master Data Management Foundations.
  • In collaboration with team, design and develop new training modules and courses, including instructor-led and self-directed components
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts in various functional areas to determine learning requirements and to develop enhanced content
  • Test, update and maintain learning modules

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Experience in developing adult learning courseware
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate (preferred) or similar learning platform
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Advanced English language skills
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the UN System and/or UNICEF is an asset
  • Proven experience in implementation under time limits
  • Ability to work in a team

Duration:

  • This consultancy is for a duration of 4 months.

Working Conditions:

Consultants are required to submit a statement of good health prior to commencement of work and to take full responsibility for the accuracy of that statement.

Consultants are responsible for arranging at their own expense life, health and other forms of insurance covering the period of their services on behalf of UNICEF as they consider appropriate. Consultants are not eligible to participate in the life or health insurance schemes available to United Nations staff members.

UNICEF undertakes no liability for taxes, duty or other contribution payable by the consultant on payments made under this contract.
