He/she will work closely with other members of the Micronutrient Unit, as well as members of the Nutrition Section and Programme Division as the Unit expands the scope of its work and develops strategies to address malnutrition among school age children, adolescents, women and the general population. The Nutrition Specialist will also work closely with UNICEF’s implementing partners and donors. The position involves frequent travel.

How can you make a difference?

The post is accountable to the Senior Adviser, Micronutrients, for the development and monitoring of global policies and strategies related to address malnutrition among young children, school-age children, adolescents, women and the general population.

This will involve:

  1. Strategic Partnerships
  2. Technical Support to Regional and Country Offices
  3. Fundraising
  4. Knowledge management

To qualify as an advocate for every child,  you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master's or higher) in the fields of human nutrition and/or public health.  

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive, relevant professional experience at the national and international level, in nutrition program management. 

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.

  • Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
