Consultant Photographer (Polio) (For Pakistan Nationals Only)

Purpose of assignment: To provide professional quality, high-resolution digital still photographic coverage of the situation of children and women and related UNICEF programmes (including polio and emergencies) on need basis.

For every child, make a difference

To make a difference, you will be accountable for the following tasks and deliverables: 

Provides professional digital photographic coverage to Polio Eradication Imitative, UNICEF-supported projects/activities, including emergency coverage, under the supervision of the Communication Specialist.

Capture high-resolution still images of children, women and staff involved in programmatic activities in accordance with UNICEF photography guidelines.

The consultant photographer shall take guidance prior to and during each mission from the Supervising Communication Specialist and or the UNICEF staff member accompanying and leading the mission.

All images captured during a mission shall have non-exclusive concomitant world rights in all media in perpetuity.

The minimum number of finally selected images to be submitted by the Consultant photographer for a one day mission should be 25.

Due photo credits will be jointly given to the photographer and UNICEF when the photographs are used on UNICEF website or publications. Any images supplied to a third party will explicitly state that joint credit must be given.

The consultant photographer shall use his/her own photographic equipment and supplies during and after the mission.

 

Deliverable:

A minimum of 25 excellent high resolution digital still images upon completion of each mission on a clearly labeled CD or DVD, with detailed captions and photo credits embedded in the metadata.

 

TERMS OF PAYMENT

1-UNICEF shall have exclusive ownership of the photographs that would be submitted and accepted as such by UNICEF and due credit would be given to the photographer.

2-UNICEF shall issue a job order expressing the nature of the assignment, deliverables, estimated cost and production timeline for each assignment.

3-The consultant shall sign the job order issued by UNICEF prior to commencement of work on each assignment. 

4-The consultant shall submit invoices based on the travel authorization and job order.

5-Payments shall be made at the submission and approval of each assignment by the supervising Communication Specialist.

6-UNICEF shall cover the agreed professional fee in PKR equivalent to $200 per working day as per the below assignment plan, DSA as per UN rates and the travel cost.  UNICEF shall cover any additional costs, if agreed in advance, as per actual and receipts attached with the invoice. 

 

Estimated Duration of Contract

Start date: 1 April 2017                      

End date: 15 March 2018 (54 days spread over 11 months)

 

Official Travel Involved

The consultant shall be required to travel to all provinces, districts and sub-districts in Pakistan on need-basis to gather the desired media as per the Assignment Plan.

 

Number of assignments:

1.  3 assignments in Islamabad (3 days each)

2.  3 assignments in Sindh3 (3 days each)

3.  3 assignments in Balochistan (3 days each)

4.  3 assignments in KPK (3 days each)

5.  3 assignments in FATA  (3 days each)

6.  3 assignments in Punjab  (3 days each)  

Total 18 Assignments  (54 days) 

 

Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • At least 6 years of experience at professional photography level.
  • Professional level of expertise in digital documentary photography, reportage and portraiture.
  • Extensive experience covering social, humanitarian and development subjects within Pakistan.
  • Skills to produce field pictures in a challenging environment.
  • Mobility and willingness to accept assignments at short notice.
  • Specific training in photography and/or media production
  • Previous work experience with UNICEF and/or other UN agencies and International NGOs is desirable.

 

TECHNICAL EVALUATION CRITERIA AND WEIGHT ALLOCATION BETWEEN TECHNICAL AND PRICE PROPOSAL

Experience: 30%

Technical proposal and/or portfolio: 30%

Education and Training: 10%

Other assets: 10%

Financial proposal: 20%.
