As Programme Director - Angola, you will oversee the development and strategy of all country operations. World Vision Angola was founded in 1989 and today serves more than 1,175,000 children, their families and their communities across several programmatic areas.

You are a highly accomplished visionary leader who combines proven business disciplines with inspirational management skills to effectively communicate global and ministry initiatives, cultivate relationships, and identify opportunities to successfully drive World Vision Angola growth and development.

Requirements include:

Government Grants & Budgets

  • Good knowledge of financial management and accounting principles, All government grants have satisfactory evaluation from Donors
  • At least 3 years’ experience in overseeing large Government grant, its acquisition and donor engagement

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management or Social Sciences
  • Degree in International Development is a plus

Knowledge and Experience

  • Significant management experience (general/operational) where there is evidence of both accountability and managerial know-how
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese

Willingness to learn and develop

  • Strong Understanding of Human Rights and Particularly Child Rights
  • Familiarity with EU, USAID, DFID, AUS AID and CIDA experience in grant acquisitions, compliance and policy/procedures is an added advantage

Travel

  • Ability to work and travel extensively in country of assignment (hardship/conflict areas) as well as internationally (approximately 20-25%) of working time
