The Business Development Coordinator is a member of Pact’s Opportunity Development department, which oversees Pact’s new business development activities. Every member of the Opportunity Development team at Pact is committed to sharing in the success of the organization, its peers, and individual accomplishments. The Opportunity Development team is managed through a matrixed structure that promotes winning proposals through collaboration. The Business Development Coordinator works with a wide range of Pact staff and teams worldwide - including but not limited to program management professionals, technical experts, finance staff, key operational units, and country offices - to contribute to the development of proposals for new projects in response to donor requirements. The Business Development Coordinator assists the Opportunity Development team with business development research and analysis and administrative management tasks. The Business Development Coordinator reports to a Senior Business Development Officer or Business Development Manager.
Contribute to the development and production of proposals under the supervision of a proposal manager, ensuring that proposals meet funder specifications and deadlines as well as Pact’s quality standards. This may include researching and creating drafts for proposal sections, assisting with development of standard proposal annexes such as past performance and staffing information, conducting research for upcoming anticipated, opportunities, and other required proposal development tasks.
Provide assistance to proposal managers in coordination of sub-processes of proposal development. This may include recruitment and liaising with partners and consultants.
Support preparation of scoping trips for technical leads, senior leadership, and business development staff; conduct research, initiate contact with relevant institutions, and prepare schedules and talking points.
Develop informational documents about Pact’s projects and work that can be shared with donors, partners, and other external audiences.
Support Pact’s Country Offices in development of smaller proposals, including proposal coordination, copy-editing, and submission.
Monitor and share information from outside sources of news, including political and security information.
Maintain accurate information about business development opportunities in internal databases; assist with analysis of business development data; and prepare relevant business development reports for Pact’s senior leadership and country teams.
Monitor, research, and share information about new opportunities, donor funding trends, and relevant country information from outside sources of news.
Support administrative and knowledge management functions of the Opportunity Development team.
Other related tasks, as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Strong interest in international development.
Strong planning and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
Ability to multitask with ease, adapting to frequently changing priorities.
Strong interpersonal and team building skills.
Facility with common desktop applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe).
Fluency in English.
Experience in international development.
Prior proposal development experience.
Experience in one of Pact’s technical areas.
Proficiency in at least one other foreign language.
