The Private Sector Fundraising Section, UNICEF Thailand Country Office is seeking an international individual consultant to develop fundraising strategic plans, implement, and manage telethon/event/integrated media fundraising activities.

Work Assignment:

Under the supervision of Fund Raising Officer, the consultant will perform the following tasks:

  • Identify opportunity, develop strategy and plan for setting up a Telethon/Event/Integrated Media fundraising activities at UNICEF Thailand.
  • Identify target and KPIs and continue to monitor performance through entire test period to ensure success of each activity.
  • Take a lead on executing the Telethon/Event/Integrated Media Fundraising activities.
  • Work with UNICEF Working Group members to facilitate and manage the organization of the Telethon/Event/Integrated Media fundraising activities.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (i.e., TV channel, a production house, corporate sponsors, donation facilities/platforms) for pre-event, event, and post-event activities.
  • Support Communication team and/or internal stakeholders to coordinate with media partners and sponsors.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as deemed necessary for the organization of the event.
  • Plan and implement with the Working Group all follow up activities including thank you letters and other appreciation to donors and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report on progress of fundraising activities against the work plan and targets. Collect, interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and model(s), and provide reports, insights, and recommendation. Use information gained from the analysis to develop budget and forecast of future activities. 
  • Perform various of effective administrative supports to the Fundraising Officer as well as Private Sector and Fundraising team as and when requires.
  • Build capacity of internal staffs.
  • Perform other duties, as required by supervisor.

 

End Product(s):

The consultant is required to report to the supervisor on weekly basis and submit the final report with recommendations and action plans at the end of contract period. 

 

Key Final Deliverable:

  • Telethon/Event/Integrated Media fundraising strategy
  • Work plan including clear and defined steps to be carried out
  • Report detailing the key points, findings, and recommendation on all the work done during the contract period

 

Estimated Duration of Contract:  11.5 months over the period of 1 May 2017 – 15 April 2018

 

Official Travel: The consultant is expected to visit UNICEF projects, partners and suppliers.

 

Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • University degree in related field, i.e. Marketing, Communication, preferred.
  • Five years of relevant experience in Telethon/Event/Integrated Media fundraising. Hands on experiences in project management in any fundraising income stream is strong asset.
  • Good organizational and communications (oral and written) skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Service-minded with a pleasant personality and good interpersonal skills.
  • Tact, discretion, self-starter and good judgment.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to handle and complete multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of computer applications.
