The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization experienced in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. In the light of the high influx of migrants to the Greek islands, NRC has started an emergency response programme on the island of Chios in mid-October 2015. NRC directly assisted over 70,000 refugees and migrants, working together with the Greek authorities, humanitarian actors and volunteers to set up and maintain a dignified and efficient flow of refugees from arrival at the beach, via registration and reception facilities, to departure by boat or plane to mainland Greece. Job description

• Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
• Implement Communication and visibility activities according to plan of action
• Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
• Ensure proper filing of documents
• Promote and share ideas for technical improvement
• Support PMs in the planning, organization and implementation of events.
• Provide technical support to PMs for advertising campaigns.
• Liaise with journalists and other Media to ensure fair representation of NRC program in the Media.
• Support visits to the field for the Communication and Liaison Coordinator and the PAA, as well as Donor staff.
• Ensure Donor visibility on project products and outputs.
• Monitor and use social media to communicate.
• Draft press release and interview messages.

Qualifications

• Experience from working in Public relations and or advertising
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Excellent written and verbal command of English and Greek
• Knowledge of the Refugee crisis context in Greece
• Driving licence
