The Global Security Director function is instrumental in continuously developing security risk management and crisis management in NRC.

NRC has operations in more than 30 countries, often in hard to reach areas where access to those we are to serve is a constant challenge. In 2016, NRC launched an ambitious initiative to conduct detailed security risk assessments (SRAs) in all of its existing and new high risk areas. In 2017 NRC is expanding its crisis management training program, developing new and more advanced scenarios to ensure country and regional managers improve their crisis skills and team performance. NRC will also continue to expand its Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) program, offering more courses in Norway, South Africa, Jordan and Kenya.

NRC will in 2017 develop a new three year strategy (2018-2020) and Global Security will be essential in this process, bringing NRC to the next level.

Our current Global Security Director has had a key role in the organisation, but has chosen to seek new challenges within academia. We are now seeking his replacement.
