Background:

NRC is operating in Iraq since 2010 to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable people affected by on-going conflict in the region. It has its country office in Erbil, KR-I and has area offices in Baghdad, Dohuk, Erbil and Kirkuk. 

NRC national program strategy for 2016 takes a whole of Iraq approach focusing on CCCM, WASH, Shelter, Education, Emergency Cash modalities, housing and land property (HLP) and Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA). In 2016, NRC will continue to consolidate operations in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KR-I) by providing care and maintenance facilities in IDPs camps, strengthening the relevant government authorities and building systems more at community levels as opposed to household level for successful exit, while also considerably scaling up operations in the South-Central regions of Iraq (with focus on the Anbar and Baghdad Governorates). A further priority will be to reach populations in harder to access areas through working with implementing national partners, established community network contacts and UN-led Rapid Response Mechanisms (RRM). Target caseload will be people affected by displacement including IDPs in camps, IDPs outside of camps, host communities, returnees and refugees. 

 

Overview:

CCCM Coordinator is to ensure the implementation of project portfolio and will lead NRC’s Site Management Mobile Response Team (SMMRT) which aims to enable a liveable environment for displaced populations in informal collective centers, the Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring   adherence to NRC policies, handbook and guidelines and will be responsible to ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist

The Coordinator will report to the Site& Settlement Project Manager, the Coordinator will be responsible to promote and share ideas for technical improvement in relation to both the “hard” and “soft” components of programming

The position will be based in Dohuk with Some travels to fields.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

A university graduated or higher in related field with experience from working as a project Coordinator in humanitarian and recover/context. The candidate ideally should have previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. The candidate should have strong experience in financial, asset and human resources management, budgeting and administration. Fluency in spoken written English, Arabic and Kurdish language is an asset. Knowledge of humanitarian principles and code of conduct.

 

 Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Line management of Officers and team leaders.
  • Contribute to Site Management strategy development, concept notes, project proposals, budgets and provide input on needs and gaps.
  • Manage and implement delegated portfolio of projects (activities, budget, plan of Action, and project documentation) as delegated from PM in line with proposals, objectives, strategies and donor requirements while ensuring high technical quality.
  • Provide regular progress reports to PM (AM and Specialist if no PM) and input into Donor reports as requested.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least two years in project management in an emergency setting or development work.
  • Experience managing all aspects of Shelter project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
  • Strong experience in planning, design, management and implementation of emergency shelters in Iraq, including distributions and assessments.
  • Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

The post will be for 7 months’ contract with possibility of extension - Subject to fund.

Salary:7/1 According to NRC-Iraq's salary grade
