The Publishing Manager utilizes strong relationships in UNICEF to gather feedback from all key stakeholders as UNICEF rethinks the process for publishing information as it transforms its intranet into a holistic Digital Workplace.

Purpose of the Assignment

  • Support the development and rollout of the DWP, including taking the lead on key initiatives delegated by the Project Manager
  • Identify and document publishing activities across UNICEF
  • Lead the requirements for and implementation of key publishing templates
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to proactively ensure organizational understanding of the interrelationship of publishing and key business processes.
  • Provide any training to staff in publishing.
  • Support Project Manager in implementation of the DWP project.
  • Performs other duties as required. 

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

Education

  • Master's degree in library scienceinformation sciences, or related field

Experience

  • UNICEF experience is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international content management standards
  • A minimum of (5) years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: information management, publishing, content management, project management.
  • Experience with large scale intranet revitalization projects.
  • Understanding of international development issues and previous experience with a multilateral or UN organization.

Functional Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills to deal with senior colleagues, suppliers, and contractors; 
  • Negotiation skills to persuade senior colleagues to follow agreed guidelines; 
  • An awareness of intranet and information management principles and familiarity with content management systems; 
  • Highly organized and process oriented
  • Acute awareness & ability to manage project deadlines  
  • Highly proficient with desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and including an ability to learn new IT systems

Evaluation method 

Individual consultants will be evaluated based on the cumulative analysis methodology (weighted scoring method), where the award of the contract will be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:

  • Responsive/compliant/acceptable; and
  • Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of technical skills and financial proposal specific to the solicitation.

Technical Criteria weight: [70%]

Financial Criteria weight:  [30%]
