We are looking for a qualified and highly motivated professional to be part of our team in Baghdad, Iraq.
Who are we?
Danish Refugee
Council is a leading protection agency pursuing our mandate to protect and
promote durable solutions to displacement-affected populations on the basis of
humanitarian principles and human rights. In the Middle East and North Africa
(MENA), DRC apply a regional approach with operational presence in Libya,
Tunisia, Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and Iraq.
Present in Iraq since 2003, DRC is today operational in the Kurdish
governorates, in and around Baghdad and in several South-Central governorates.
Focused both on the influx of Syrian refugees and the current IDP crisis, DRC
is providing assistance in a range of sectors including Camp Coordination and
Camp Management, Protection, Livelihoods, Emergency Response (including food
security, cash, and NFIs), WASH, Shelter and Mine Action. The Iraq programme
presently employs some 450-national staff and 45 international staff, and is
growing to meet new, emerging needs associated with ongoing and recent conflict
in multiple locations
About the job:
Drive DRC staff and assets/equipment in a safe and
reliable manner, maintain the safety and good running condition of DRC vehicle
being used.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To be at DRC’s disposal 40 hours per week including weekends and evenings– schedule
- Develop daily and weekly movement plan.
- Collect vehicles data and complete vehicles monthly reports.
- Follow fuel refilling and payment.
- To ensure the cars are in a clean condition on a daily basis;
- To perform general check up on the cars (engine oil, brake oil, tyres pressure, wiper fluid, radiator fluid, etc.) to make sure the car is road worthy at all times where practicable.
- To complete all tasks related to the VIMS (Vehicle Information Management System)
- Implement duties in line with the DRC Code of Conduct and represent DRC.

experience
in a similar field and excellent communication and organizational skills.

following:
Required qualifications:
- 2 years of NGO/UN field experience in a similar position.
- Good communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
- Ability to prepare weekly activity reports.
- Spoken and written Arabic is essential
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to determine priorities and attention to detail a must.
- Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player.
- Willingness to work in the field and travel when needed.
Desirable qualifications:
Ideally, you will also have ..
- High school degree.
- Computer programs literacy.
- Good English Language and Fluent Arabic.
We offer:
DRC will offer the successful
applicant a 6
months’ contract, renewable dependent on both funding and
performance. You must be available to start work from 1st
of June and be willing and able to work in Baghdad.
