UNICEF Uganda is seeking committed and dedicated professionals in the Information Management sector at the NOB level who can join us in our mission to deliver results for children. This is a Generic Vacancy Announcement (GVA) for the Talent Group for Information Management Officers at the NOB level in Uganda Country Office. Talent Groups at UNICEF are exclusive lists of pre-vetted, highly qualified professionals intended to fast-track recruitment processes as positions become available. After a rigorous selection process, successful candidates will be placed in the Talent Group for Information Management Officers at NOB Level for a period of 36 months. While placement in the Talent Group does not guarantee a position, it is an important resource for filling vacancies nationally for roles in the Information Management sector. Candidates placed into the Talent Group will be reviewed when a relevant position becomes available and if found suitable, are offered placements through a direct selection process. Contracts may be Fixed Term (FT) or Temporary Appointment (TA).

How can you make a difference?

In support of the achievements of the overall country programme goals and objectives and under the general supervision of the Chief of Social Policy & Advocacy, provide professional technical assistance and inputs to guide programme design, planning and implementation, management and evaluation, through data analysis and information management.

The key functions involves the following:

To qualify as a/an [champion or advocate] for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Geographic Information Systems/Science, Natural or Environment Science, Surveying, Civil Engineering or Computer Science/ Information Systems, Social Policy, or other relevant disciplines, with specialized training in Geographic Information Systems.

    *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in At least five years of relevant professional work experience. 
  • Data analysis, database management, commensurate work experience (NO).
  • Background/familiarity with humanitarian or development related work.
