Christian Aid (UK) Nigeria country programme in partnership with ICCO Federation is implementing a response to the food and livelihood crisis in the northeast Nigeria. CAID Nigeria will be implementing cash transfers targeting IDPs, returnees and host communities through provision of quality cash transfer programs through banks, SIM pact network system, manual cash transfers or in-kind, through non- food item form. The essence is to alleviate the suffering posed to the communities from the insurgent attacks and enable the communities have access to food or food related items through cash to better their lives, restore hope and eradicate poverty.
To carryout market analysis in Askira Uba and advising as appropriate on the best methodology to be used for the cash transfer programs.
Develop a concept note and give market situation analysis on Askira Uba, providing a guidance document to be used by CAID Nigeria on the general market situation in the community.
To conduct a thorough market situation analysis, research, surveys on the general market situation in this community, recommend an effective and visible methods for the anticipated cash transfer.
To develop a guidance note based on his/her survey on the real market situation and informing on the best strategy to be used for the cash transfer based on the situation analysis.
To develop valid data during his/her research and use such data to inform on the suitable cash transfer methods intended to be carried out.
To make presentation on the last day of such analysis and present a valid research documents which can be used to inform program decisions.
A Degree in economics, marketing, agricultural economics, research, accounting or equivalent. A master degree is an added advantage.
5 years and above experience implementing development programming in marketing/cash transfer or economics in northern Nigeria.
A minimum of a 5-year working experience in conducting research programs on cash transfers/distribution, market analysis and market surveys.
Strong experience working on nutrition and economic related programs.
Strong background knowledge on market analysis in the northeastern Nigeria.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, Hausa or Kanuri.
Sound knowledge on market situations in northern Nigeria.
Strong ability to develop market related research materials.
Develop slides and hard copy materials after the conduct of market situation analysis.
Submit a report recommending the best cash transfer methods to be used and justifying all reasons why such should be used based on the findings made.
Submit data and other research material on all findings made.
Make presentations to CAID Nigeria on all findings carried out.
Terms: CAID Nigeria will provide accommodation, feeding, vehicle for movement and cost for printing any necessary materials. Consultancy fee will be negotiated during interviews.
