The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization experienced in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. In the light of the high influx of migrants to the Greek islands, NRC has started an emergency response programme on the island of Chios in mid-October 2015. NRC directly assisted over 70,000 refugees and migrants, working together with the Greek authorities, humanitarian actors and volunteers to set up and maintain a dignified and efficient flow of refugees from arrival at the beach, via registration and reception facilities, to departure by boat or plane to mainland Greece. NRC Thessaloniki is now looking forward to cover the position of Administration Technical Assistant to respond to the humanitarian needs.

The purpose of the Administration Technical Assistant position is to administer a portfolio of lease agreements and accommodation services.

Job description

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist with the implementation of the administrative activities according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of contract documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the Administrative function
  • Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards
  • Be the focal point for the accommodation of visitors and international staff
  • Ensure timely payments of rents, utilities and other bills as per Lease Agreements and SOPs
  • Monitor International housing LAs in line with the policy
  • Organize Hotels/Guest House's for new arrivals

Qualifications

  • Experience from working as an assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in Greek, both written and verbal
  • Excellent command of Excel, including advanced functions
