The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for displaced populations. NRC started operation in the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2012. We deliver humanitarian assistance in 4 provinces in the sectors of Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counseling and Legal Assistance (ICLA).
NRC Iran seeks to strengthen its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Unit capabilities through the recruitment of dedicated M&E Assistant resources to support telephone surveys, household surveys, and focus group discussions.

• Implement activities according to the NRC Iran MEAL Unit Plan;
• Contribute to the strengthening of NRC Iran’s MEAL Unit;
• Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and contribute to exploring and assessing new and better ways to assist;
• Promote and share ideas for technical improvement;
• Promote internal learning to help improve NRC projects;
• Promote NRC accountability to beneficiaries.
• Administering telephone surveys of Afghan beneficiaries;
• Administering household surveys of Afghan beneficiaries;
• Administering and note-taking of discussion groups and key informant interviews;
• Translating surveys, discussion groups and key informant interview guidelines;
• Recording into the beneficiary database the nature of beneficiary enquirers and NRC’s responses;
• Entering beneficiary data into the NRC beneficiary database;
• On occasion, the M&E Assistant may be required to travel outside of Tehran to support specific MEAL activities in other areas such as Kerman.
• Fluent Farsi;
• Proficient English;
• Good level in all common MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Experience working with refugee contexts is a plus;
• Knowledge of databases e.g., MS Excel or Access is a plus;

Qualifications
• Previous experience conducting interviews or customer engagement either face to face or over the phone;• Fluent Farsi;
• Proficient English;
• Good level in all common MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Experience working with refugee contexts is a plus;
Personal qualities
• Knowledge of data collection software e.g., KoBo or ODK Collect is a plus;• Knowledge of databases e.g., MS Excel or Access is a plus;
