The main responsibilities include:

·         Developing and implementing a global strategy to raise leadership giving income for UNRWA; providing strategic guidance to and supervision of UNRWA’s Leadership Giving Team;

·         Ensuring that new opportunities for funding are identified and solicited, prospective donors are researched, profiled and development plans created;

·         Developing donor visibility plans, recognition strategies, planning and reporting procedures to optimize income growth and donor satisfaction;

·         Developing, managing and maintaining strategic relationships with current and prospective funders through appropriate cultivation and stewardship strategies;

·         Managing the development and submission of funding proposals to international grant giving bodies, and overseeing the implementation of grant funded projects to ensure donor conditions are complied with and UNRWA’s reputation for grant management is maintained and enhanced;

·         Preparing and managing the annual budget for the Leadership Giving Programme and ensuring that internal monitoring and reporting requirements are met. Contributing to the annual planning process by giving income and expenditure budget inputs to the overall Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) budget;

·         Analyzing philanthropic and other leadership giving (corporate and foundation partnership) trends so that market opportunities may be capitalized on, ensuring that the UNRWA’s Leadership Giving proposition remains compelling and competitive; developing and delivering training and capacity building on foundations, grant giving and project development to relevant UNRWA teams and field offices.

 

Conditions of service

UNRWA offers an attractive compensation package including annual salary starting at $70,647 net tax free with post adjustment of 36.4% (subject to change without notice). All UNRWA duty stations (with the exception of Gaza and Syria) are family duty stations. Other benefits, subject to eligibility, include:

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education

Advanced university degree from an accredited educational institution in political science, international relations, business or public administration, law, economics, development or humanitarian studies or a related discipline; a first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Work

Experience

·    Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in mobilising private sector income for leadership giving, including developing and implementing long-term private sector fundraising strategies with an international NGO or UN agency, 2 years of which must be at an international level;

·    Extensive experience in developing a team of fundraisers and developing donor visibility plans, recognition strategies, and planning and reporting procedures to optimize income growth and donor satisfaction;

·    Demonstrated experience in financial management, including developing forecasts and budgets.

Language(s)
