BYFY Coordinator Consultant

This consultancy aims to assist UNICEF Kosovo Office in coordinating all related activities with the implementation of By Youth For Youth initiatives and activities towards the achievement of the programme’s goals which contribute to increased capacities and opportunities amongst Kosovo’s most marginalized youth to seek and secure meaningful participation both in the workforce and in policy-formation and decision-making processes.

Tasks to be performed for the Innovations Lab specifically:

 Coordinates all activities related with the implementation of By Youth For Youth initiatives and activities; 

  • Ensures successful implementation of youth-led projects deriving from the UPSHIFT: Social Impact Workshop and StartUP: Social Venture Workshop;
  • Coordinates the team of the BYFY pillar and ensures that procedures, rules and regulations are followed accordingly;
  • Contributes and assists in programme developments, new project proposals and adjustments on the current initiatives;
  • Involvement with relevant actors in the ecosystem in order to contribute to better social entrepreneurship environment;
  • Contributes and assists Innovations Lab management in new initiative developments, project proposals and amendments to the current initiatives;
  • Supports the development of the annual strategic planning for the BYFY pillar;
  • Contributes to quarterly and annual reports for the BYFY pillar and Innovations Lab;

Expected Results

The key deliverables would be the following:

  • Successful completion of the target results expected and agreed with donators;
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as required by the UNICEF Innovations Lab Kosovo management;

Delivery of clear strategic plan for outreach activities, workshops and agreements with external partners;


  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business, or other relevant fields. A high school diploma with an additional three years of experience can be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree;
  • At least 2 years of experience in the NGO sector, with particular focus in organizations in the youth sector;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the business sector or other relevant industries related to business and social entrepreneurship;
  • Previous experience with human-centered design methodology is essential;
  • Previous experience in program implementation with other international agencies in Kosovo is essential;
  • Previous experience in working with marginalized groups and minority communities is essential;
  • In-depth knowledge of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Kosovo, its trends and market characteristics is highly desirable;
  • Excellent command in English;
  • Available in short notice for the job;
  • Excellent multi-taskers who can work both independently and with a team or supervisor;

Terms and conditions for payment of services

Remuneration amount will be based on the qualifications of the consultant and will be paid monthly upon certification of deliverables.


The consultant will be supervised by the Head of UNICEF Innovations Lab. S/he will be guided by the Head of the Lab and supported by other staff members.
