Title: CPIMS Officer 
Location: Dimma 
Reports to: Protection Team Leader 
Start of Contract & Duration: Six months

INTRODUCTION 
 
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), an international non-governmental organization (NGO), has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. DRC promotes and supports solutions to the problems faced by refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and migrants. The organization has offices across the region, and has been operational in Ethiopia since 2009. With funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, DRC is currently implementing a range of activities across Ethiopia and Djibouti, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration. 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
The CPIMS Officer under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader is expected to give a substantial contribution to: 
 
  • Enter accurately and in a timely manner all case management forms into the interagency child protection database 
  • Ensure efficient data capture processes and generate fortnightly reports on case load and monitoring statistics for the Protection Team Leader or other partners when required. 
  • Review case load and monitoring statistics and setting targets for case follow-ups and closure and identifying gaps as appropriate. 
  • Ensure the database is backed-up regularly. 
  • Maintain an appropriate filling system of received, open and closed cases as received from field sites and from other partners. 
  • Implement the Data Protection Policy and appropriate standards for confidentiality of the information on the children 
  • Participate in any other activities as may be assigned to you by the supervisor from time to time 
REPORTING ARRANGEMENTS 
 
The CPIMS Officer will report to the Protection Team leader based in Dimma, Gambella. 
 
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS 
 
Required 
  • B.A/B.SC in Information Management Systems, Statistics or related field  
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in child protection program.  
  • Experience with data base and information management systems 
  • Experience of implementing Child Protection Information Management System (CPIMS)  
  • Experience of working with Non-Governmental organizations 
  • Good in spoken and written English especially reporting 
  • Good communication skills and ability to conduct training 
  • Understanding of gender, protection and human rights 
  • Demonstrable Computer skills 
  • Proven organizational and people management skills 
  • Ability to represent the organization and influence people 
 
Desirable 
  • Experience working with Child Protection in Emergencies. 
  • Experience working with an international organization (such as INGOs, UN agencies, diplomatic missions, or the like).
