The UNOPS ICT team provides the organization with tools and resources to compliment and support the corporate ERP System (Unit4 Business World), Intranet, corporate Website in alignment with the UNOPS technology platform and ICT strategy.  System development domains include eProcurement, knowledge management, performance reporting, payroll, benefits and entitlements and project management.

Within the ICT project management stream, the Project Management tools developer will support the Infrastructure and Project Management Group (IPMG) and UNOPS Country offices in offering design, technical development, assistance, advice, and support on Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions and tools. 

Functional Responsibilities

      I.        Contribute to the development and deployment of an Enterprise Project Management (EPM) solution for UNOPS

  • Propose design of the Office 365- and Project Online- based EPM solution for the review and approval of IPMG;
  • Implement and configure the custom EPM product in collaboration with IPMG;
  • Prepare documentation for the deployed solution including user guides, quick reference guides and training material;
  • Assist selected country offices on piloting the EPM solution;
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT);
  • Continuously improve and maintain the EPM solution. 

      II.        Provide technical support for the implementation of projects carried out by UNOPS to ensure the efficient use of Project Management Tools

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for user experience and usage, familiar with how users use the tools, what  features / functionality is used, and common use case scenarios performed;
  • Monitor issues reported to System Support, watch for trends in issues, analyze and troubleshoot issues to determine depth and severity and investigate potential workarounds;

    III.        Facilitate training and capacity building activities

  • Facilitate training and workshops on Project Management tools to develop knowledge and contribute to the successful delivery of projects;
  • Promote Project and Portfolio Management best practices, share lessons learned and contribute to wider community of practice;

   IV.        Other tasks duties as required

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:
  • Masters Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering or MIS is required.  
  • A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering or MIS)  coupled with two additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a Masters Degree.
  • Secondary education in combination with additional six years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master's Degree.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in managing/supporting Project and Portfolio Management and Enterprise Project Management solutions is required.
  • Development experience with .NET C#, Javascript, CSS and HTML5 is required        
  • Experience with Microsoft solutions for Project Management, such as Project Online or Project Server is required.
  • Development experience with Microsoft Office 365 and/or SharePoint Server 2013/2016, including integrations with ERP solutions and other 3rd party software an advantage;
Language:
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Fluency in French and/or Spanish is considered a valuable asset
Certifications:
  • PRINCE2® certification is an asset.
  • Microsoft Office 365 and Project Certifications (MSCA and similar) are an asset.
