Officer, Module Development and Training

To support program delivery, GGGI seeks to hire a “Module developer and training specialist” be supporting the designing an appropriate green growth training curricula and modules as well as stand-alone knowledge products collaborating closely with the Government of Indonesia. The position requires experience with training development, delivery and most importantly the development of training materials, including modern multi-media and/or distance learning tools. 

The position reports to the Knowledge and Capacity Development Lead and is part of the global Green Growth Planning and Implementation (GGP&I) team. The position will be based at a relevant government agency to be part of the 'hybrid team' with government counterparts.

PURPOSE

The “Module developer and training specialist” will be supporting the capacity development component of the GoI-GGGI Green Growth Program. The person will contribute to specific module development and potentially lead one, or more, of the many modules that will be developed in the 2017-2019 period. The development of other knowledge and learning products including audio-visual products, and innovative learning platforms will also be part of this persons tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Lead in development of the component on Capacity Development;
  • When applicable collaborate and liaise with relevant GGGI's teams in head office like the Thought Leadership and communication teams to more effectively access and apply international knowledge products and expertise, to identify priorities for new knowledge products and research, and to share Indonesia's own green growth experience and successes with GGGI's international partners, such as the Green Growth Knowledge Platform, and with other GGGI partner countries;
  • Synthesize knowledge from technical components, support the module developers with the development of innovative, easy-to-understand learning materials;
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to design the appointed modules based on the agency's standards for different target audiences and meeting relevant administrative and legal standards to ensure the curriculum can become part of the mandatory training for government officials;
  • Take a leading role in organizing the initial (pilot) trainings and demonstration trainings, coach and train the trainers;
  • Work closely with GoI partners in implementing the above, recognizing the importance of government buy-in and ownership in the implementation of all activities under the collaborative GoI-GGGI Green Growth Program.

ENGAGEMENT

  • Develop and maintain continuos coordination, on a day-to-day basis, with our GoI stakeholders and the by the GoI appointed module developers and trainers. 
  • Ensure consistent service delivery to the different stakeholders
  • During this engagement it is the role of the candidate to anticipate stakeholder requirements and ensures alignment of GGGI’s services to meet these needs.
  • Coordination with GGGI colleagues globally and in Indonesia on project related matters to be able to deliver high quality products.

DELIVERY

  • Support the high quality delivery of a yet to be determined number of modules including its training materials and promotion materials
  • One or several well managed module development teams (existing out of 3-5 experts, GoI representatives and consultants), ensuring on time and high quality delivery
  • Training materials, including interactive, multimedia, online materials.
  • Other knowledge and learning products including audio-visual products, and innovative learning platforms

QUALIFICATIONS

All applicants must hold exemplary and relevant academic credentials, and must hold a post-graduate degree in a relevant subject from a leading academic institution. The position requires 7 years of experience, although less years of experience will be considered if outstanding experience is shown.

  • Masters Degree in knowledge development and/or related subjects;
  • Proven experience with the development of innovative, interactive learning materials
  • Proven track record in the development and delivery of training for trainers, and training of other target groups. Previous experience with training civil servants is a preference.
  • Proven experience with the development of modern, multimedia learning materials and/or distance learning programs is a strong advantage;
  • Demonstrated ability to garner support from a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure local ownership of the various knowledge and learning products;
  • Ability to easily grasp economic, finance, investment, and related environmental, social, and climate-related issues, and ability to communicate the green growth message in a clear and simple way to a diverse audience;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, and consensus-building skills, and ability to foster strong relationships with key government agencies and to understand government needs;
  • Actively seeks and considers diverse ideas and approaches, applying ICT tools, and ability to work as part of a team; an entrepreneurial spirit is an asset;
  • Flexibility, responsiveness, and ability to manage multiple activities while meeting tight deadlines, and with demonstrated ability to lead and work in multidisciplinary teams;
  • Effective and efficient operational and organizational skills - project management and project coordination experience;
  • Strong oral and written English and Indonesian is essential.
