Temporary position of Human Resources Assistant (GS-5) in UNICEF Yangon, Myanmar for six months duration - Myanmar nationals only

Purpose of the Position

Under the supervision and guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant provides administrative, procedural and operational support and assistance to the efficient implementation related to recruitment and onboarding, ensuring accurate and timely delivery, whilst promoting a client-based, quality and results orientated approach to the unit and ensuring compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.

 

Summary of Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks

• Support in recruitment and placement
• Support in learning and development

• Support in recruitment and placement

• Drafts vacancy announcements for positions within his/her office for review by supervisor to help attract ideal candidates.

• Liaises with candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process.
• Prepares formal relevant acknowledgement letters at various recruitment points.

• Manages the administration of the technical tests. This includes liaising with zonal offices for remote testing and making relevant arrangements in Yangon. Liaise with HR team at point of compiling the test results.

• Support onboarding staff as relates to completing GSSC on boarding requirements; liaise with supervisors as regards orientation; prepare welcome packages; assist orient to HR related matters.

• Support in learning and development
• Familiarize new staff to Agora and the mandatory training requirements
• Familiarize new staff to the on boarding /orientation support available through Agora.

Any Other Assignment
Provide support to the HR unit in any other area. Particularly for any new initiative

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

Education: Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the work of the organization.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible human resources or administrative experience required

Language Requirements: Fluency of English and local language of the duty station required.
