Defending children's rights throughout their lives requires a global presence, aiming to produce results and understand their effects. UNICEF believes all children have a right to survive, thrive and fulfill their potential – to the benefit of a better world.

For every child, results.

For decades, UNICEF has played a crucial role in the collection, analysis, dissemination and use of data about children. UNICEF supports governments to more effectively use data about children to inform investment decisions, policies and programmes, as well as to strengthen national data collection and analysis systems. UNICEF plays a key role in developing, testing and disseminating new data-related tools and methodologies. UNICEF’s own data bases and data analyses inform policy dialogue, advocacy and campaigning at country, regional and global levels.

With the emphasis on data in the Sustainable Development Goals and the rapid evolution of data-related technologies, UNICEF data work will become even more crucial in advancing results for disadvantages children in the years ahead.
