SCA Background
The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work:
The female CBHC Supervisor will directly report to BPHS technical deputy manager, will supervise CBHC related activities in the health facilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Graduated from IHS institute as midwife MD will be preferred
- Experiences of Monitoring, evaluation and assessment of CBHC programs
- At least two years’ experience in CBHC
- Good communication skills (written & spoken) of Pashto, Dari, and basic English will be a strong advantage
- Basic computer knowledge is an advantage
- Able to work independently and under the stressful conditions
- Be an Afghan national
Main Responsibilities:
- Follow approved BPHS & EPHS and CBHC guidelines and procedures and promote community based health care.
- Develop operation plan for establishing / strengthening community health care network as per approved plan of action.
- Provide support to and supervise CHWs, CHSs, and organizing community health committees/ Shuras (LHCs & VHCs)
- Coordinated CBHC with MoPH, NGOs and other organization related department /staff and represent SCA in all CBHC related meetings and gathering.
- Plan and implement all CBHC training, including initial and refresher training for CHWs.
- Participate in CBHC task force meetings regularly.
- Regularly visits health facilities community network (Health Posts, LHCs and VHCs) monitor the activities and provide on the support , participate in join supportive supervisor exercises.
- Collect compile, analyze reports and draft feedback.
- Support pharmacy officer in developing required kit/supply and request and ensure the CHWs are supplied timely and use the kite in a rational manner.
- Support community network and facility staff to conduct CAAC, other surveys and community mapping exercise.
- Regular supervision from all Health posts and submission of report to Deputy project manager
- Any other official task assign by supervisor.
