We are looking for a highly qualified to support the adolescent girl’s assistants in the organization and provision of structured activities in static (women centers) and mobile safe spaces to adolescent girls and their caregivers.
Who are we?
Danish refugee council has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.
The Adolescent Girl Volunteer will be in charge of identifying and responding to the needs of adolescent girls, their caregivers and their respective children in the communities identified by the Adolescent girl’s assistants, in order to prevent their exposure to early marriage and strengthen their positive coping skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Participate in door-to door assessment exercises to identify the settlements of most vulnerable adolescent girls in the catchment areas of the centre-based and mobile activities and support the development of baseline surveys;
• Participate in the delivery of GBV sessions with the facilitators
• Participate in the transportation of the beneficiaries
• Prepare and plan for the mentors and other attendance sheets
• Participate in safety assessment exercise to ensure risks faced by adolescent girls are adequately captured
• Participate in community safety planning exercises to ensure involvement of adolescent girls and their caregivers
• Provide regular updates to PSS Officer, on common threats and needs of adolescent girls to inform program design and advocacy initiatives
• Use agreed-upon monitoring and evaluation tools to track adolescent girls’ participation in activities and collect their feedback

Required qualifications:
• 1-2 years of experience
• Previous experience working in association, NGOs with adolescents and/or experience working as or with animators;
• Volunteering experience in social work, teaching, child development or other related field
• Excellent knowledge of child protection and GBV and PSS basic principles
We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until the end of October 2017, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from July 2017 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates and Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at level V equivalent to a maximum of 450 USD per month.
