The Reporting Associate reports to the Head of Financial and Operations Performance Management and Reporting who provides broad supervision and guidance. The role is responsible for providing support to results monitoring and reporting processes.  This includes supporting: financial reporting to donors and other stakeholders; UNOPS corporate reporting on results; and UNOPS substantive reporting.

1.       Results analysis and reporting

  • Support analysis related to the UNOPS Strategic Plan (SP) and associated Mid-Term Review (MTR) in the area of Results Based Management (RBM).
  • Support the implementation of systems for results monitoring and reporting, internal and external.
  • Support the Team Lead on UNOPS results based reporting, including data collection and analysis. 
  • Communication with colleagues/clients on areas requiring verification, corrections, additional information, etc. to improve quality of output.
  • Review of finance data and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and correctness.
  • Contact with organizational stakeholders to verify, correct, add and improve quality of financial activities of particular reports.
  • Maintenance of records and preparation of recurring or special reports.

2.     Corporate services and support

  • Support the Team Lead and Deputy CFO, on the UNOPS Quarterly Business Review process, including providing supporting analysis or inputs to performance discussions between Regional and HQ Directors and the Executive Office as requested. 
  • Provide support to the development of quality analysis of UNOPS performance, both financial- and non-financial.

3.       Knowledge management and innovation

  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating policies, procedures, methods, tools and associated systems to ensure its utility, applicability and efficacy.
  • Assist in the development of new policies and procedures and introduce innovation and best practices in business operations to enhance services.
  • Assist in refining processes to maximise the benefits of management information system to enhance efficiency and facilitate organisational/management monitoring, oversight and reporting.
  • Support training events and design/set training agenda to build capacity of stakeholders on results management, analysis and reporting.

Impact of Results

The responsible and transparent financial analysis and reporting of financial resources to governing bodies, clients, partners and stakeholders enhance the visibility and image of the UNOPS as an effective service provider in project services and management and consequently strengthen its competitive position as a partner of choice in sustainable development and project services in the country served.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:
  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent is required;
  • University degree or certification in finance-related subjects or business administration is desirable. 
Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the area of finance  is required. 
  • Some experience in UN system is an asset
Education:
  • Full working knowledge of English. 
  • Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
