We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to provide case management and psycho-social support to vulnerable boys, girls and their families.

Who are we? 

Danish refugee council has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. 
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

About the job 

Respond to children and their families survivors of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
• In compliance with best-practice, international standards and National Case Management SOPs in CP response, provide direct psychosocial support to vulnerable girls and boys. Case management services will include assessment of needs, development of an action plan for recovery, implementing the action plan and ensuring appropriate follow up and close the case when appropriate. The case management process should be implemented through a child-centered approach 
• Provide age-appropriate counseling for vulnerable children through the implementation of tools developed to ensure the best interest of the child 
• Provide age-appropriate qualitative psychosocial support in safe spaces (community centers) including emotional support group sessions and awareness sessions 
• To support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and report on problems in the implementation of the program  
• Participate in regular supervisory meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care and appropriate case management 
• Work closely with the GBV sector when a case involves child survivors, particularly when assessing best interest of the child 
• Receive referrals from different agencies, do action plan and appropriate response to each case 
• Develop and maintain effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, community leaders and service providers

Required qualifications 
• Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field;   
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times;  
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility. 
• Flexibility in working overtime when needed;  
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel);  
• Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.  
• At least 2 years of experience in counseling mainly with children;

 

 

Desirable qualifications

 

Ideally, you will also have: 

• Master degree in social work and/or psychology 
• Previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings 
• Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon

 

 

We offer 
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31st of December 2017 – replacement for staff on maternity leave. You must be available to start work from August 2017 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli. 
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at level B+1 with a basic salary of 1450 USD.
