Purpose of the Assignment

Under the general supervision of the UNICEF Adolescent Development and Participation (ADAP) officer, contributes to programme monitoring and implementation, evaluation of programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting. The incumbent will also responsible for technical support in development and implementation of Adolescent Well-being and HIV Prevention and Care Programme. The Consultant will monitor the implementation process of programmes and projects in Adolescent Well-being Club (ALL-IN centres).

 Assignment Tasks

During 6 months, under the direct supervision of the UNICEF ADAP & C4D Officers, the Consultant will carry out the following tasks:

  • Undertake field visits to All In Centres as necessary to collect and analyses data, assess local conditions and resources, monitor projects, mapping partners, and forming strategic partnership
  • Conduct periodic project reviews with government counterparts and other partners. Attending/arranging meeting as per strategic vision of the programme and draft monthly progress report as deliverable and submit to UNICEF ADAP officer for approval
  • Recommend corrective & follow up actions on HIV/AIDS prevention and adolescent development programme implementation activities as necessary and undertakes remedial action to address issues and challenges as they arise after consultation with supervisor. Provide technical advice on improvement of project in line with the main strategy of the programme
  • Supporting UNICEF team in capacity building and organizing workshops, seminars and missions
  • Perform a review of the literature and an inventory of institutions specialized in adolescent well-being and HIV prevention among adolescents in order to identify existing good practices worldwide and in Iran to feed into the further development of the All In initiative in Iran.
  • Draft final report and submit to UNICEF ADAP officer for approval

 QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Minimum M.S. in medicine, health, public health nurse, psychology, social sciences or other related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience
  •  Minimum five year experience with at least one year of progressively responsible experience in HIV/AIDS prevention and care programme implementation and monitoring or related field;
  • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation;
  • Proven experience in working with at risk adolescents;
  • Strong communication, planning, analytical and training skills;
  • Good knowledge of computer skills including internet navigation, and various office applications, proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Ability to work in a team and establish effective working relations in an international and multi-cultural environment;
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate multiple stakeholders on deadlines;
  • Previous working experience with UNICEF/UN is an asset;
  • Fluency in English & Farsi required
  • Good English writing skills;
