Job Description 
 
 
Title:                Monitoring and Reporting Officer (M&R) 
Project:           Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) 
Location:        Aden with regular visits to sites in Abyan.  
Level:              As per DRC Yemen national staff salary grid 
 
 
Background and purpose  
 
Yemen is caught in the on-going conflict and is facing severe food insecurity. DRC will carry out WFP General Food Distribution (GFD) to vulnerable host/IDP families every month – August to December 2017 - in Abyan Governorate.  
 
Key  responsibilities
 
The main functions of the M&R Officer involve,  
Working closely with the FSL manager to assist monitoring the whole General Food Distribution, program assets and food allocations; Assist planning, developing, and implementing monitoring tools to keep track of progress in programme activities; Regular update Programme Teams on key indicators of projects; Working closely with Field Teams to collect/record monthly distribution and PDM data; Assist the FSL manager in carrying out analysis on the benefits of the program on the targeted population; Compile monthly data and analysis and submission to donors; insure carrying out base-line and end-line surveys; prepare monthly, periodical and final reports for FSL projects; Upload projects docs to the Grant Management System (GMS); Attend other related functions as and when assigned by FSL manager. 
 
Qualifications and Experience 
 
Must hold a Bachelor Degree in any discipline and; must be proficient in English & Arabic;  
Two years working experience in monitoring food and livelihood program; 
Excellent communication and writing skill in English and Arabic; 
Excellent familiarity to programming and cultural contexts in rural Yemen;  
Excellent skills in MS Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - to compile food distribution statistics;    
Ability/willingness to undertake field visits including night halts in field.
