CCCM Assistant 
Duty Station [Mosul with travelling to sorrounding areas] 
 
We are looking for qualified CCCM Assistant with minimum 1 year of professional experience, ideally involved in social services or community activism, or in aninternational and/or local NGO; ideally involved in the direct implementation of field level humanitarian assistance to refugees or IDPs. 
 
 
Who are we?  
Danish Refugee Council is a leading protection agency pursuing our mandate to protect and promote durable solutions to displacement-affected populations on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. In the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), DRC apply a regional approach with operational presence in Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey and Iraq.  
Present in Iraq since 2003, DRC is today operational in the Kurdish governorates, in and around Baghdad and in several South-Central governorates. Focused both on the influx of Syrian refugees and the current IDP crisis, DRC is providing assistance in a range of sectors including Camp Coordination and Camp Management, Protection, Livelihoods, Emergency Response (including food security, cash, and NFIs), WASH, Shelter and Mine Action. The Iraq programme presently employs some 450 national staff and 45 international staff, and is growing to meet new, emerging needs associated with ongoing and recent conflict in multiple locations.  
 
 
About the job 
  • The CCCM Assistant will support the implementation of CCCM activities in Mosul – focused primarily on data collection, support to informal settlements and Multi Purpose Community Centre activities, as well as and referrals/service requests, in addition to regular liaising with stakeholders.
  • Provide any additional support as requested by other team members and the CCCM Officer. 
 
Reporting lines: 
  • Reports to: The position is reporting directly to the CCCM Officer, but remains under the overall supervision of the CCCM Project Officer with input from the CCCM Coordinator and Head of Office for Mosul 
  • Subordinates: N/A. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Provide support to CCCM & return activities in urban areas of Mosul
  • Ensure regular contact (physical or through phone calls) and collect area specific information/updates from community focal points
  • Responsible for timely and accurate input of data into CCCM databases and tools
  • Assist in identifying needs, service gaps and duplications in all targeted areas
  • Document, track and provide timely referrals and service requests to specialist service providers.
  • Help facilitate awareness campaigns or information dissemination to IDP/Return populations using diverse methodologies, ensuring understanding by the IDP community
  • Attend meetings with various stakeholders, including national authorities and IDPs as necessary or requested.
  • Provide accurate and timely information that supports the drafting of weekly situation reports and other updates.
  • Support the CCCM Officer and CCCM Team Leader & Project Officer in any other duties, as needed. 
 
Overarching tasks: 
  • The CCCM Assistant is a Mosul-based position  
  • The CCCM Assistant will undertake any other tasks, within the framework of his/her position, as requested by his/her supervisor. 
 
About you 
Essential experience/attributes: 
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience, ideally involved in social services or community activism, or in aninternational and/or local NGO; ideally involved in the direct implementation of field level humanitarian assistance to refugees or IDPs.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in creating, establishing and negotiating relationships and building alliances and networks with various stakeholders at community and local and national levels.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian issues, especially related to Iraq displacement
  • Ability to draft basic reports and situational briefings in English.
  • Strong competence in using Excel required 
 
Preferred attributes 
a) Preferred qualifications: 
  • Advanced university degree is an asset.  
 
b) Preferred experience: 
  • Experience in social services or community activism.  
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and values.  
  • Understanding of gender, protection and human rights.  
  • Extensive knowledge of the Syrian refugee crisis and Iraqi displacement.

Languages:
  • Spoken and written English and Arabic are essential. Kurdish is an advantage.

We offer 
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31-December-2017, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 6-September-2017.
