NRC in Jordan 

Established in 2012 NRC Jordan’s long-term outlook addresses the problems affecting life as a refugee. We work to build the resilience of Syrians, and to relieve the impact on the Jordanian communities that host them.  Syrian refugees in Jordan are struggling. As they contend with difficult living conditions across the country, the obstacles are complex. They struggle to remain registered as refugees, to provide for their families, and to access essential services – including education for their children. The Jordanian communities that host them, meanwhile, feel the impact of hosting high numbers of refugees – with each year that passes, local infrastructure becomes more strained.

 

Role Specific Information

To support the effective operation of the NRC Logistics Team and related programme activities located in Azraq Camp, by providing general logistics assistance in accordance with NRC Logistics policies and procedures and relevant donor guidelines.

 

Generic responsibilities:

  • Adheres to NRC policies and procedures, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to daily labours and/or contractors and evaluates individual performance.
  • Provides basic assistance, information and/or training to staff on departments policies and procedures.
  • Develops weekly activity plan.
  • Manages progress of own activities.
  • Prepares and files accurate records of department activities and ensures all information is accurate and available in time.
  • Maintains working relationships with relevant local authorities and/or stakeholders.

 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Assists in the receipt, storage, and transfer of stock from Azraq Camp warehousing;
  • Completes and files accurate and up-to-date logistics documents, incl. Goods Received Notes (GRN), Stock Request Forms, Waybill, Loss & Damage Reports, and Stock Reports.
  • Participates in the monthly stock counts for Azraq Camp Warehousing;
  • Provides assistance with local procurement, in accordance with NRC procurement guidelines and thresholds, where required and as delegated by line management;
  • Provides up-to-date information on the status of all local procurement for inclusion in the PR Tracker.
  • Processes camp permit requests and facilitates camp access for vehicles and supplies;
  • Assists in the preparation and completion of daily / weekly / monthly logistics reporting requirements.
  • Any other general logistics assistance as directed by line management.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a university graduate in Logistics, with a minimum of 1 year previous experience in Logistics/ Warehousing.   Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, in particular in the Middle East.  Technical expertise relevant to the role. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Good level of English, both written and verbal.

We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels.
