Under the direct supervision of the Accounting and Finance Officer (NOB) and overall guidance by the Chief of Operations, this post serves as principal assistant to accounts maintenance, cash management, budget control, financial reporting for Jordan Country Office and MENA Regional Office.

Purpose of the job:

Under the direct supervision of the Accounting and Finance Officer (NOB) and overall guidance by the Chief of Operations, this post serves as principal assistant to accounts maintenance, cash management, budget control, financial reporting for Jordan Country Office and MENA Regional Office. 

How can you make a difference?

  1. Support the cash assistance program activities in UNICEF starting from preparation of the needed documentation, recording transactions through GSSC, updating files and preparing reports based on the implementation progress.
  2. Liaise with bank officials for all UNICEF bank accounts. Ensure that bank reconciliations are submitted to GSSC within the deadline.
  3. Participate in HACT assurance activities and support the capacity building activities to Implementing Partners.
  4. Extensively support the monthly closure activities, follow up with related parties on pending open items.
  5. Check that all DCT requests and liquidations are in compliance with HACT guidelines before processing on VISION.
  6. Recording of all Journal Vouchers when necessary and in accordance with UNICEF financial management policy.
  7. Assists higher level officers in all aspects of financial reporting.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: Completion of secondary education is required. A first level university degree in finance or related field is highly desirable. 

Experience: Seven years’ experience in financial administration and management roles is required.

Languages: Fluency in Arabic and English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
