Purpose of the Assignment

Provide technical, logistical and coordination support for initiatives agreed to with national counterparts.

Assignment Tasks

  • Support the completion of pending activities from previous work plans (as signed off with government). These are related to child protection and education sector programmes.
  • Arrange meetings with the counterparts to plan out the expectations, inputs required and milestones of each initiative;
  • Contribute to the conceptual thinking of the technical expertise required to support each specific activity and support the sourcing of consultants with credible experience, language capacity (Arabic and English preferably), as well as appreciation of the local context.
  • Facilitate the completion of grants by end 2018.
  • Maintain on-going communication with and support to government counterparts and partners in the implementation of the agreed activities;
  • Support the development of the next Area Programme including the preparation of background materials, translation of key documents, and review of existing data.

Expected Deliverables

At the start of each month, the consultant will document expected outputs in each of the four project areas in consultation with the Supervisor.  This work plan will be signed off by the Supervisor.  On conclusion of each of each reporting period (monthly), the consultant will report on each of the expected outputs.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Fluent in both English and Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Candidate must have valid residence permit for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

 

Education

Masters degree in social sciences.

 

Years of relevant experience

Over 5 years’ experience working with the government sector as well as UN agencies (preferably with exposure to the Arab/Gulf region)

 

Competencies of Successful Candidate

Excellent communication, interpersonal, research, analytical and writing skills
