Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Cash Based Intervention Assistant to help expand its program in Iran. 
 
About us 
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1956 that works in more than 35 countries throughout the world. DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. Under its mandate, the organization focuses on emergency humanitarian response, rehabilitation and post-conflict recovery. DRC aims at protecting refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced migration, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights.  
 
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been operational in Iran since the spring of 2012 through one office in Tehran. DRC Iran forms part of the regional DRC response to the Afghan displacement axis in Central Asia and South West Asia (CASWA), covering Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Tajikistan. 
 
About the job 
From 1st of October 2016, DRC address the most urgent needs of vulnerable Afghan households in Southern Tehran and Alborz, Isfahan and Fars Provinces, in particular food, health, Education and Disability through cash modalities. 
The CBI Assistant will support the CBI Officer to implement Danish Refugee Council’s cash delivery activities for Afghans in Iran. He/she will support the CBI Officer to identify beneficiaries, raise awareness on the project, deliver cash, monitor and evaluate.  
 
Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
 
DRC Tehran Operation (& support to other DRC field offices within country): 
  • Provide support to the CBI Officer with the implementation of DRC CBI programming in Iran 
  • Conduct interview with vulnerable Afghans (both in person and by phone) and enter beneficiaries data using standard DRC online forms 
  • Support the CBI Officer to manage a team of CBI facilitators, upon request  
  • Follow up with selected beneficiaries to get the required documentation and prepare admin and financial forms for our Finance team to process the payment 
  • Support the roll out of online data collection for the cash program, using the template specified by the Cash Officer. Support may include training and quality assurance for facilitators. 
  • Carry out assessment, monitoring and evaluation visits and write detailed reports when required  
  • Provide administrative, procurement and logistical support to the program. 
  • Upon request from the CBI Officer, represent DRC at the UNHCR based case management meeting or at the CBI multi-agency meeting 
  • Prepare cash or Individual Protection Assistance (IPA) reports  
  • Provide input into donor reporting when requested.  
  • Keep the beneficiaries’ database up to date. 
  • Any other duties as required to support DRC CBI. 
 
Key Deliverables
  • Support the CBI Officer in running the CBI in Iran 
  • Support the CBI Officer in the day to day management of in house and out of office daily workers/facilitators 
  • Assessment by phone or in person are done professionally and in a timely manner 
About you

Moreover, we also expect the following:  
 
Required  Experience and education: 
  • Bachelor degree in the humanities, social sciences, or humanitarian / development studies or other relevant field.
  • 3-4years 
  • Minimum one year experience in project implementation 
  • Experience with UN or NGO is an advantage
  • Knowledge within the field of CBI, livelihoods, protection, is an advantage 
  • Fluent English 
  • Fluent Farsi

Contract length: after a 3 months’ probation contract subject to success the contract would be extended based on performance and funding availability.
