Purpose of the job

The Donor Relations Specialist will support the Jordan Country Office’s (JCO) overall resource mobilization efforts in response to the Syria Refugee Crisis, serving as primary point of contact for some major government donors of UNICEF Jordan and supporting the implementation of the new country programme resource mobilization strategy (2018-2022). The Specialist will be responsible for managing relations with a number of major donors to UNICEF JCO. The Specialist will also oversee and contribute to planning, drafting and quality reviewing donor reports, situation reports, newsletters and other information material targeting donors on issues related to UNICEF Jordan’s Country Programme including its Syria emergency response programme.

 

How can you make a difference?

1.    Provide one-stop-shop to a number of current and potential donors on UNICEF’s programmes in Jordan including coordination with UNICEF programme staff, sharing of fact-sheets, newsletter and other programme related information, organization of visits to UNICEF programmes, and liaison with Government donors, Natcoms, and other relevant partners and stakeholders.

2.   In consultation with relevant programme sections, draft concept notes and proposals, and ensure that these are aligned with donor interests and UNICEF’s programme priorities under the Country Programme strategies.

3.   Plan, develop, compile, draft and edit reports to be used for donors, partners, and stakeholders (Including: monthly newsletters, presentations, donor progress and final reports, annual reports).

4.   Design and deliver briefing notes for Management when necessary.

5.  Undertake visits to programme sites, when necessary.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Education: Advanced University Degree in social sciences, business administration, public relations, journalism or a related science relevant to the work of UNICEF. *First university degree with additional two-years of relevant work experience is acceptable in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of professional work experience in the field of development and/or emergency programming with demonstrated experience in reporting, fundraising, monitoring of programme implementation, and/or communication.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN working language such as Arabic is an asset.
