The Chief Education will guide overall development, planning, implementation and monitoring of the entire Education programme and ensure alignment with Mozambique’s Education Sector Strategic Plan, the Plano Quinquennal de Governo (PQG), the UNDAF and the SDG 4. S/he will engage actively in dialogue through the sector-wide approach (SWAp), and provide guidance on leveraging resources for the education programme.

How can you make a difference?

S/he will engage actively in dialogue through the sector-wide approach (SWAp), and provide guidance on leveraging resources for the education programme.

As an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An Advanced university degree in education, economics, psychology, sociology or other social science field.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education at the international level, some of which preferably in a developing country is required. Experience working in the UN system agency or organisation is an asset. Familiarity with emergency response is an asset.
  • Fluency in Portuguese preferred; fluency in Spanish accepted in lieu of Portuguese.
