UNICEF Country Office in Albania is currently seeking talented, committed, creative Child Protection Officer, who is passionate about making a lasting difference for children, thereby ensuring a better future for every child.

Under the supervision of the Child Protection Specialist, the Officer will provide professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programs/projects within the Albania Country Programme in 2017-2021 from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting. 

Summary of Key functions/accountabilities

  • Support to programmes/projects development and planning;
  • Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results;
  • Technical and operational support to programme implementation;
  • Networking and partnership building;
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.

 Qualification and experience

  • An advanced  University Degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, law or other social science field is required;
  • A minimum of 5 (five) years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection and/other closely related areas is required;
  • Relevant experience in child protection and related areas, programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is an asset;
  • Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage;
  • Fluency in verbal and written Albanian and English, with a particular focus on the quality of analytical writing in both languages;
  • Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications;
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.

     

    The position may require travel within and outside the country.

    Qualified individuals are invited to apply for the position of Child Protection Officer in UNICEF Albania.  The successful candidate will be offered one year Fixed Term Appointment at the level of the post.  Renewal of appointment will be based on satisfactory performance and future requirement for this position.
