We are looking for a highly qualified Government Liaison officer to assist in developing and maintaining DRC’s relationship with key Ministries and institutional actors. And to ensure all new projects are developed, submitted through JORISS and finally approved in line with Jordan laws and regulations.

DRC is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. With the vision that no displaced person must be in want of help to find protection and durable solutions, DRC provides assistance and protection to conflict-affected in many of the major conflicts in Asia, Africa and Middle East. The assistance can consist of relief and other humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and support to returning home, and the promotion of durable solutions. 
 
 
 
About the job 
 
Government Liaison officer to assist in developing and maintaining DRC’s relationship with key Ministries and institutional actors. And to ensure all new projects are developed, submitted through JORISS and finally approved in line with Jordan laws and regulations. 
 
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
 
• Install positive working relation with MoI, MoPIC, MoSD, MoMA and any other relevant ministry; 
• Create facilitating environment for DRC project submission and approval; 
• Link regularly with ministry focal points to maintain constructive working relation; 
• Assist field coordinators in developing and maintaining profitable relationship with the deconcentrated and decentralized institutional bodies (Governorates, Ministries Directions, Municipalities) and with other influential Stakeholders at local level; 
• Take the lead on the presentation of key reports to be submitted to MOPIC during the year 
• Submit all donor approved projects to MoPIC for validation; 
• Follow up and facilitate MoPIC approval of all submitted projects; 
• Support the revision and roll out of the DRC Jordan Strategic Programme Document, ensuring programmatic rationale is in line with GoJ regulations. 
 
 
 
About you 
 
To be successful in this role you must have:  
 
Required qualifications/ experience 
• B.Sc. in law, public administration, political science or any equivalent.   
• Minimum 5 years of experience in public relation, in which, 2 years at least liaising with government of Jordan. 
• Critical understanding of the JRP process including, project application, JORISS system and reporting to line ministries. 
• Experience working in INGOs is an asset; 
• Demonstrated competencies in drafting official letters in Arabic. 
• Able to effectively communicate in meetings, with good presentation and negotiation skills.

• Excellent Arabic (written). 
• Excellent English (written and oral) is required.

We offer 
 
DRC will offer the successful applicant a one year contract including three month as probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work as soon as possible and be willing and able to work in Amman –Jordan, with frequent visits to field sites (Azraq camp, Karak, Ma’an, Mafraq, Irbid). 
 
 
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals. This position will be placed at Grade D.
